![]() ![]() After this accident, Marie Curie accepted her husband's teaching position at La Sorbonne. Ève did not know her father, who died in 1906 in an accident, run over by a horse cart. She was the younger daughter of the scientists Marie and Pierre Curie, who also had another daughter Irène (born 1897). Ève Denise Curie was born in Paris, France, on December 6, 1904. Ève was the only member of her family who did not choose a career as a scientist and did not win a Nobel Prize, although her husband, Henry Richardson Labouisse Jr., did collect the Nobel Peace Prize in 1965 on behalf of UNICEF, completing the Curie family legacy of five Nobel Prize winners.
