![]() ![]() Many of the existing models are housed by museums and universities in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Australia, India, and the United States-with particularly large collections found at Harvard University and Cornell University. The invertebrate models represent a wide range of sea animals, including sea anemones, octopuses and squids, sea worms, and corals. Leopold Blaschka (1822-1895) and his son Rudolf (1857-1939), who often described themselves as “natural history artisans”, created glass models of invertebrate sea creatures, plants, and flowers that have been acquired by museums and universities across the world.
